Song of the Day - April 7, 2005

The Coral's "Simon Diamond" is a true mix of styles combining elements of Simon & Garfunkel, Crosby, Stills, & Nash, and early Pink Floyd. There are harmonizing vocals alla Simon & Garfunkel and CSN, plus that psychedelic guitar sound straight out of the 60's with a distinct Pink Floyd sound. I even detect an organ and some surf style guitars thrown into the mix. Despite the 60's sound, The Coral are a current band from the UK. The level of talent in the UK, never ceases to amaze me.
